Job summary

Prairie Vista Village in Altoona, IA is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our compassionate team. The CNA provides direct, hands-on care to residents in our caring nursing home setting, helping them maintain independence and dignity.

We offer 8-hour shifts, full-time (30+ hours weekly), with evenings 2pm-10:30pm and a supportive work environment that values teamwork, ongoing training, and competitive wages.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved CNA training program and competency examinations as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on care to residents.
• Maintain residents' quality of care and quality of life.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living as outlined in care plan.
• Complete documentation of resident care as assigned.
• Follow safety policies to assure resident safety.
• Follow and uphold the Community's policies and procedures.
• Attend facility meetings and in-service trainings.
• Follow infection control guidelines.
• Report changes in resident condition immediately to the Charge Nurse.
• Observe residents’ rights and promote dignity.
• Promote positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.

Role

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team! The Certified Nurse Assistant is responsible to provide direct, hands‑on care to residents in a nursing home environment to ensure residents attain or maintain the highest possible physical, mental and emotional well‑being possible.

Responsibilities

• Follows and upholds The Community’s philosophy and goal to maintain, improve and/or enhance each resident’s quality of care and quality of life.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living as outlined in care plan.
• Completes documentation of resident care as assigned.
• Follows safety policies in performing nursing care, assuring resident safety.
• Follows and upholds policies and procedures of The Community.
• Follows rules outlined in the Community’s employee handbook.
• Attends and participates in facility meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.
• Follows infection control guidelines.
• Reports changes in resident’s condition immediately to the Charge Nurse
• Observes residents’ rights including, but not limited to, privacy, dignity, etc.
• Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.

Qualifications

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) must have completed an approved training program and passed competency examinations in clinical skills and written knowledge in accordance with statutory requirements for Certified Nurse Assistant.
