We are a beautiful 180-bed nursing facility located in Long Island. We are currently seeking a Certified Nurse's Assistant to join our nursing team.

Responsibilities

1. The Certified Nursing Assistant, a mature adult, performs under the supervision and/or direction of a Registered Nurse and/or a Licensed Practical Nurse.
2. Performs selected resident care activities to assist in safe treatment and caring for the personal needs and comfort of adult/geriatric residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
3. Provides necessary care to the residents of this facility in a safe, caring manner, in keeping with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Catholic Health Services of Long Island.
4. Assists with the admission of residents, including reception, preparation, and data collection.
5. Functions as a team member in administering direct resident care and pays meticulous attention to personal hygiene, safety, comfort, skin care, and anticipation of needs.
6. Prepares residents for meals and assists with feeding.
7. Distributes fluids, nourishment, and snacks.
8. Assists with transporting residents between areas of the facility and at discharge in a timely manner.
9. Collects and transports specimens promptly.
10. Responds to call bells and alarms in a timely manner.
11. Ensures all personal alarms are in place and functioning according to each resident's plan of care.
12. Communicates any obvious changes in a resident's condition to the nurse.
13. Records intake, output, bowel movements, vital signs, toileting, range of motion, ambulation, restraint use, nutrition, ADL care, security device bracelets, showers/bathing, and skin checks as per facility policy.
14. Assists in maintaining a clean, safe environment for residents and co-workers using appropriate safety practices.
