Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CNA certification for Florida or have completed a certified CNA program and awaiting examination.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred but not required.
• Well versed with documentation writing and timely progress notes.

Responsibilities

• Gives direct care as assigned, i.e. bath, shower, oral hygiene, bedpan/urinal care, personal grooming, and other hygienic needs.
• Cleans and cares for bedside equipment and the resident's environment and personal belongings.
• Practices safety rules to prevent accidents at all times.
• Assist the nurse to maintain continuous observation of and provide assistance to residents.
• Conduct resident care rounds, visiting each resident every one to two hours.
• Prepare residents for meals and assist or feed residents as needed.
• Completes all documentation before the end of shift.
• Establishes and maintains rapport with residents, families, visitors and staff.
