Qualified candidates will have a Texas CNA license or Patient Care Tech Certification, CPI training within 90 days, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school/GED required.
• CPI training within 90 days of hire date.
• Active Texas C.N.A. license or Patient Care Tech Certification required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Ability to communicate clearly with nursing staff, administration and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values in daily practice.
• Maintain patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Never leave a client unattended.
• Identify contraband and dispose of it properly.
• Orient patients to the unit and assist with ADLs and transfers.
• Record vital signs and intake/output; notify RN of changes.
• Provide general nursing care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Observe patients and report changes; document accordingly.
• Assist with patient safety checks and 1:1 observations as required.
• Assist with restraints and de-escalation as directed by RN.
