Job summary

South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a dedicated CNA to support memory care and assisted living residents on a rotating schedule. You will assist with daily living activities and work closely with licensed nursing staff to deliver compassionate care on evenings, nights, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Successful completion from a state approved geriatric nursing assistant training program.
• Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred.
• Registration with state registry required.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing and mobility.
• Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed.
• Responds to signal lights promptly and documents observations.
• Changes bed linens and keeps rooms clean and orderly.
• Assists with daily activities and routine care under supervision.
• Reports and records treatments and test results when indicated.

About The Role

The CNA assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Caregiver:

• Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
• Gives treatment, performs tests, carries out procedures and collects specimens as instructed.
• Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures and specimens when indicated.
• Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed.
• Answer signal lights promptly.
• Changes bed linens, makes beds, and keeps rooms clean and orderly.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• Successful completion from a state approved geriatric nursing assistant training program. Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred. Registration with state registry required.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given.
• High school diploma or equivalent

Salary: $17.50 per hour

Shift Differential: $2/hr for Weekday Evenings and Nights, and $3.50/hr for all weekend shifts!
