Job summary

South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to assist licensed nursing staff with daily living activities and routine care.

You will support dressing, grooming, bathing, meals, mobility and documentation, with a base pay of $17.50 per hour plus $2 weekday evening/night and $3.50 weekend shift differential; a comprehensive benefits package is provided. Qualifications

• CNA must have completed a state-approved geriatric nursing assistant program and be registered.
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic and ability to document care.
• Good command of English for instructions and communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
• Administer treatments, perform tests, and collect specimens as instructed.
• Document observations and results of treatments and tests.
• Transfer, transport and escort residents as needed.
• Respond promptly to signal lights and maintain clean, orderly rooms.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The CNA assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Caregiver:

• Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
• Gives treatment, performs tests, carries out procedures and collects specimens as instructed.
• Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures and specimens when indicated.
• Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed.
• Answer signal lights promptly.
• Changes bed linens, makes beds, and keeps rooms clean and orderly.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• Successful completion from a state approved geriatric nursing assistant training program. Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred. Registration with state registry required.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given.
• High school diploma or equivalent

Salary: $17.50 per hour

Shift Differential: $2/hr for Weekday Evenings and Nights, and $3.50/hr for all weekend shifts!
