Responsibilities

The Hospice Aide, under the supervision of a registered nurse, provides direct patient care services as outlined in the Plan of Care.

Reports on patient condition or environment to the Executive Director or designee.

Assists with ADLs such as mobility, transfers, grooming, bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting.

Performs household services essential to the patient's health at home.

Participates in QAPI processes, reporting problems as needed.

Must have reliable transportation.

Education and Experience

• Successful completion of a competency evaluation prior to patient care.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to transportation.

Additional State-Specific Requirements

For Arkansas: At least one year of experience in an institutional setting, a state-issued certificate, or completion of a 40-hour aide training course.

Skill Requirements

• Mature and able to handle the demands of a hospice aide position.
• Ability to read, write, and follow directions accurately.
