Ivy Tech Community College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach CNA preparation courses, delivering didactic and lab components in accordance with established syllabi. Faculty must hold a nursing license in Indiana and demonstrate at least one year of nursing experience, with appropriate trainer credentials as required.
Responsibilities include developing course materials, maintaining records, and engaging students using effective instructional methods within the college’s policies and FERPA
Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
A qualified faculty member teaching the didactic portion of CNA Preparation meets all four of the following criteria: Is a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensed and in good standing in the State of Indiana, and Has a minimum of one year of licensed nursing experience, and Has completed Indiana Department of Health Train-the-Trainer, and One of the following: Completed the required state training session including adult learning theory or Holds a current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education in any Health Science.
A qualified faculty member teaching the lab or clinical portions of CNA Preparation meets both of the following criteria: Is a licensed nurse holding an unencumbered license in the state of Indiana, and Has a minimum of one year of licensed nurse experience.
