Job summary

CHI Mercy Health Valley City is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate basic care under RN direction. You will support patient comfort, safety, and recovery while contributing to the care plan as a vital member of the team.

Successful candidates will hold a North Dakota CNA certification, complete a Nurse Assistant Program, and obtain BLS within 30 days of start date. This role is based in Valley City, ND, with a focus on high-quality, dignified patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of Nurse Assistant Program
• Previous healthcare experience
• Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the state of North Dakota
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association within 30 days of start date

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care within scope of practice and according to age-specific needs.
• Monitor vital signs, weights, intake and output, and glucose readings.
• Assist with patient transport and contribute to the patient’s plan of care as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Distribute water, meals, and snacks; collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens following proper procedures.
• Assist designated personnel with procedures, treatments, or examinations as required.
• Use equipment properly and safely; report malfunctions promptly.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), you will be a cornerstone of patient care, directly contributing to comfort, safety, and recovery by providing essential support under RN direction. • Provides basic nursing care within scope of practice and according to age specific needs. -bathing, hygiene, feeding, elimination needs, and patient activities.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care.
• Performs assigned nursing data collection and reports any irregularities to appropriate nursing personal in timely manner vital signs, weights, intake and output, and glucose readings.
• Participates in implementation of care plan according to individual patient needs; distributes water glasses, meal trays and snacks in a timely manner, collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens following correct procedure.
• Assists designated personnel with procedures, treatments or examinations as required.
• Uses equipment properly and safely, reports malfunctions appropriately scales-infant, standing, chair, wheelchair, bed scale, B/P recording devices with pulse oximeters, tympanic thermometers, Hoyer lift, gait belt, restraints, lead application for telemetry unit.

Pay Range

$17.28 - $24.41 /hour
