Job summary

BestCare Treatment Services, Inc. operates a Redmond Detox program where CNAs work closely with staff to support detox clients and ensure safe, compassionate care.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, administering medications after certification, and collaborating with a treatment team to maintain a supportive environment. The role requires a current Oregon CNA, willingness to pursue a Medication Aide Certification within 6–12 months, and CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Oregon Nursing Assistant certification; CNA.
• Be willing to complete an 80-hour OSBN-approved medication aide training program to obtain a Medication Aide Certification within 6-12 months of hire.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• For individuals recovering from alcoholism or drug addiction, have maintained continuous sobriety for the immediate past two years at the time of hire
• Possesses the training, knowledge, and/or experience demonstrating competence in treatment of addiction, including withdrawal management and client evaluation
• Skilled at motivational counseling techniques
• Experience taking and recording vital signs
• Ability to work independently and be a strong team player
• Must get along well with coworkers
• Ability to network with resources to provide best customer service
• Proven excellent customer service with clients and/or families seeking help

Responsibilities

• Works closely with staff as a member of the treatment team.
• Maintains high visibility at all times.
• Responsible for all aspects of the detox service area, including noise level, traffic, cleanliness and safety of sleeping, common areas and office.
• Take and record vital signs at designated intervals.
• Notify Nurse if detox symptoms worsen and perform CIWA scoring.
• Provide medications under direction of Medical Director and Nurse once Med Aid cert is obtained.
• Provide and document PRN medications as delegated by floor Nurse or LMP after certification.
• Completes intakes per detox guidelines.
• Provide motivational counseling and case management, documenting services in the client file.
• Make timely client interventions for conflicts or inappropriate behavior.
• Maintain a healthy treatment milieu with the team.
• Maintain documentation in EMR and client files.
• Answer phones and manage filing.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Director

DAY & NIGHT SHIFTS AVAILABLE!

Primary duties include working with clients and staff at our Redmond Detox program to provide detoxification assistance and services. Advocates for excellent patient care within BestCare Treatment Services Detox facility.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Oregon Nursing Assistant certification; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Be willing to complete an 80-hour, OSBN-approved medication aide training program to obtain a Medication Aid Certification within 6 -12 months of hire.
• Current First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
• For individuals recovering from the disease of alcoholism and/or from other drug addiction, have maintained continuous sobriety for the immediate past two years at the time of hire
• Possesses the training, knowledge, and/or experience demonstrating competence in the treatment of the disease addiction, including the management of withdrawal and client evaluation
• Skilled at motivational counseling techniques
• Experience taking and recording vital signs

Essential Functions

• Works closely with other staff as a member of a treatment team.
• Maintains high visibility at all times.
• Responsible for all aspects of the detox service area, including noise level, traffic level, cleanliness and neatness of sleeping areas, common areas and office, safety and other conditions that support client care.
• Take and record vital signs of clients at the appropriate designated intervals.
• Notify Nurse if clients Monitors detoxification symptoms worsen. and performs CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment) scoring.
• Needs Med Aid cert - Provides and documents medications under the direction of the Medical Director and Nurse I/II.
• Once Medication Aid certification is obtained, provide and document PRN medications as delegated by floor Nurse I/II or under the direction of the Licensed Medical Provider.
• Completes intakes per detoxification program guidelines.
• Provides motivational counseling and case management services, working collaboratively with treatment team members and other agencies, and documents services in the client’s file.
• Makes timely client interventions when necessary including: arguments, relations, inappropriate or immature behavior, and any insensitive or disrespectful behavior.
• Works with treatment team to maintain a healthy treatment milieu.
• Maintains documentation in EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system and client files.
• Answers phones and responsible for complete, accurate filing.
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor or Director.
