Job summary

Right at Home Lexington is seeking compassionate caregivers to support seniors in our community. You will provide personal care and companion services across multiple shifts, including some weekends. The role emphasizes dignity, safety, and improving quality of life for clients with disabilities or ages.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Able to lift/move 25 lbs without assistance.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
• Pass a background check.
• Provide a current negative TB test or assessment.
• CNA license, Home Health Aide, or Personal Care Aide certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care activities to assist with activities of daily living.
• Perform housekeeping tasks: vacuum, dust, sweep, mop, laundry, dishes, bed linens, bathroom.
• Prepare meals and snacks per instructions.
• Accompany client on errands or medical appointments.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming (electric razors only).
• Provide medication reminders.
• Assist with range of motion exercises and dementia care.
• Offer companionship through reading, music, puzzles, and activities.

Responsibilities and Duties

The care you give will be providing personal care activities that assist the client with activities of daily living, which include (but are not limited to):

• Assisting with transferring/moving client from place to place throughout their home


• Performing housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom


• Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions


• Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments


• Bathing/Showering/Dressing/Shaving (Electric razors only)


• Medication reminders


• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises


• Dementia care


• Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.


• Must be able to lift/move 25 lbs without assistance


• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and pass a skills test


• Possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance


• Pass a background check


• Provide a current negative TB test or Assessment


• CNA license, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide certification preferred
