Job summary

ECS Limited's Wilmington field services team is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Project Manager to lead a variety of projects and coordinate with senior engineers and field staff to meet challenging deadlines.

The role emphasizes client relationship building, budget management, proposal development, and mentoring junior staff while ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to ASTM laboratory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Eng & Management, Materials Science Eng, Architectural Eng, or Geology.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.
• PE or PG license in the state of work.
• Strong marketing skills and client relationships.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Understanding of heavy construction safety and procedures.
• Knowledge of CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Support management of construction materials testing projects, including daily report review and staff training.
• Manage project budgets, prepare invoices, pay applications, and assist with collections.
• Prepare proposals and change orders; host or attend client meetings and follow up on reports.
• Perform soil classifications and assign laboratory testing.
• Mentor junior staff and support team development.
