Job summary

WSP is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician to support projects in the Atlanta, GA area. The role involves soil classification and density testing, plus sampling and testing of concrete in field and lab environments.

You will analyze data, ensure procedures align with specifications, and travel within the metro area as required. A strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of related experience on variety of complex projects preferred.
• Certifications might include ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC concrete reinforcing steel, and ICC masonry.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Reliability – must arrive at designated project sites on time.
• Ability to prepare reports and documentation.
• Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in variable outside conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must pass drug test, medical exam, background check, and have satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

WSP is currently seeking a Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician to support various projects in the Atlanta, GA area.

Your Impact

• Perform lab classification and index property testing of soils
• Perform density testing of soils
• Sample and test concrete in the field and lab
• Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data
• Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications
• Will travel within and around 2 hours of the city
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
