Job summary

WSP is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician to support projects in the Atlanta, GA area. You will perform laboratory and field testing on soils, concrete, and related materials, ensuring data quality and compliance with project specifications.

Travel within and around two hours of the city is required. The role demands strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and commitment to safety and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of related experience on variety of complex projects preferred.
• Certifications might include a combination of ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC concrete reinforcing steel, and ICC masonry.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Reliability – must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times.
• Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in variable outside conditions.
• Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab classification and index property testing of soils.
• Perform density testing of soils.
• Sample and test concrete in the field and lab.
• Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data.
• Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications.
• Will travel within and around 2 hours of the city.
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
