ECS Group of Companies in Sarasota is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Technician. No prior experience is required; you will learn under experienced professionals in concrete and soils labs and earn certifications with paid training and fees covered.

Responsibilities include basic lab tests, sample prep, data handling, and assisting with both soils and concrete testing under supervision. Growth opportunities arise through internal and external training and certifications.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Obtain lab certifications applicable to the lab work performed as per ECS Technician Certification Policy.
• Strong communication and basic math skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and responsible work ethic.
• Ability to follow directions and work under close supervision.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per day.

Mansioni

• Performs basic laboratory tests on construction material samples under supervision.
• Assists with sample preparation and testing procedures.
• Compiles test results, data input, data processing, and other administrative duties.
• Performs soils laboratory testing (Atterberg limits, gradation analyses, swell testing, moisture content, visual classifications, UCS testing, proctor tests).
• Performs concrete laboratory testing (stripping/labeling samples, setting samples for curing, monitoring temperature logs, breaking samples).
• Maintains a clean and organized lab environment; supports calibration and maintenance of equipment; keeps calibration records.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment; assists with additional lab functions and occasional fieldwork as needed.
• Career development: training and certification opportunities provided by ASTM or others.
