Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician in Cleveland. No experience is required as you will train under seasoned professionals to learn field and lab testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete.

You will perform observations, data collection, and calculations, while communicating with project teams. The role offers growth through OSHA 10, ACI, and ASTM certification opportunities.

Qualifications

• No experience required; paid training provided.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of CMT principles and ASTM standards.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials on project sites; execute tasks under guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
• Perform routine field and laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using industry standards and equipment.
• Collect data and perform calculations based on sampling and test results; assist with calculations, drafting, and admin duties as requested.
• Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; report changing site conditions and testing requests.
• Organize field equipment and notify supervisor of broken or missing equipment as needed; participate in project meetings as requested.
• Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings with precision according to engineering practices.
