Job summary

Braun Intertec is seeking an Experienced Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician for our Cedar Rapids office. The role involves performing a variety of testing on soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt on industrial, commercial, and transportation projects in the region.

Responsibilities include field testing, sampling, reporting, and coordinating with project managers. Candidates should have 1+ years of CM testing experience, a valid driver’s license, and be prepared to obtain required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years construction materials testing experience.
• ACI Field-Testing Certification required.
• Willing to obtain DOT/NICET/ICC certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
• Perform field concrete testing, including slump, air content, and temperature.
• Perform field density tests of soils.
• Prepare daily reports and documentation of field activities in electronic format.
• Work with project managers and senior technicians to ensure specifications are followed.
• Assist with training and mentoring of junior staff, as needed.
