Job summary

NXP Semiconductors in Austin, TX seeks a CMP Equipment Engineer with 2–5 years in semiconductor manufacturing to drive reliability, uptime, and maintenance while enabling process and operational improvements across teams.

You will partner with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, and Vendors to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions in a high-volume wafer fab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
• 2–5 years in semiconductor manufacturing, Equipment Engineering preferred.
• Experience supporting CMP equipment in wafer fabrication.
• Familiar with SPC and data-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CMP equipment performance to meet output and reliability targets.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate timely recovery actions.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support equipment qualifications, installations, upgrades, and technology transfers.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans to improve tool availability.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues and implement improvements.
• Monitor equipment health using SPC and performance metrics.
• Create and maintain equipment documentation and SOPs.
