Job summary
Polar Semiconductor in Bloomington, MN is seeking an Equipment Engineer to monitor and improve BEOL equipment used in CMP and Backlap operations. You will partner with production, process, and maintenance teams to optimize PM frequencies, update procedures, and ensure high tool uptime.
The role requires hands-on diagnostics, documentation in maintenance systems, and collaboration with OEMs for spare parts and support.
Qualifications
- BS degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering or related field.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Experience with equipment in semiconductor manufacturing preferred.
- Knowledge of process control concepts and SPC principles.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, sustain and improve BEOL equipment processes (CMP/Backlap) in Bloomington, MN.
- Collaborate with OEMs/vendors for equipment support and spare parts management.
- Create/modify PM procedures, checklists and controlled documentation.
- Disassemble, repair and reassemble equipment per manuals and schematics.
- Document maintenance activities and drive CQI and cost-reduction projects.
