Job summary

Alfa Laval in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a Quality Inspector to ensure reliable, on-time spare parts inspection using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). You will set up the CMM for each part and perform compliance checks according to the Quality Inspection Plan.

You will inspect per GD&T, perform weld inspections, and follow SOPs while leveraging Lean Six Sigma tools to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost. This onsite role prioritizes candidates near Indianapolis.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of using a CMM to inspect against drawings using GD&T.
• Proficient in hand measuring tools.
• Knowledge of Lean Six-Sigma tools (5s, DMAIC, Kaizen, SOPs).
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and SharePoint.
• Basic knowledge of WMS and Movex.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Use Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex CMM for spare part inspection per specs.
• Inspect according to Quality Inspection Plans for manual hand-tools.
• Complete weld inspection per ANSI/ASNT CP-105.
• Follow applicable SOPs and procedures.
• Backfill other inspections as needed by management.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to improve safety, quality, delivery and costs.
