Job summary

Dauch Corporation is seeking a CMM Programmer/Quality Technician to join its Detroit area facility. The role focuses on programming and operating CMM equipment, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring alignment with engineering specifications.

The successful candidate will write CMM programs, verify complex measurements, and maintain inspection documentation. Strong problem solving and teamwork skills are essential, with overtime possible to meet aggressive schedules.

Qualifications

  • CMM programming and inspection layouts.
  • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with dynamic priorities.
  • 2-year Associate Technical degree plus at least 2 years' experience in a mechanical or electronics related field or high school diploma plus at least 3 years' experience in a mechanical or electronics related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in automotive, aerospace or prototype manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize CMM using Calypso CAD software and inspection equipment to measure components to engineering requirements.
  • Write CMM programs and program CMM using CAD models and/or blueprints to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Interpret and understand complex technical documentation such as blueprints and specifications.
  • Perform and certify inspections & tests in accordance with technical documentation.
  • Maintain inspection documentation (written, electronic and photographic).
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills to work with management, engineering, suppliers and customers.
  • Root cause analysis on machining issues and offer recommendations for resolution.
  • Complete measurements and tasks on time to aggressive schedules.
  • Be able to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
  • Comply with safety policies; overtime may be required.
