Job summary

ReLogic Research, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a technically sharp CMM Programmer and Quality Inspector to convert complex engineering drawings into precise inspection data.

You will program and operate Zeiss CMMs, develop inspection routines, and deliver dimensional data that drives quality decisions across our defense programs. This hands-on role requires reading GD&T, setting up parts, writing programs, and producing clear inspection reports.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience programming and operating CMM equipment in a manufacturing or inspection environment.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience generating inspection reports and dimensional data packages.
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• US citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate Zeiss coordinate measuring machines to inspect precision aerospace components and assemblies
• Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs from engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements
• Perform dimensional inspections for first article, in-process, and final inspections
• Use precision hand measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges for incoming and in-process inspection activities
• Generate clear, accurate inspection reports and dimensional data packages for internal and customer use
• Support First Article Inspection documentation in accordance with AS9102
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements per ASME Y14.5 to define inspection strategy and measurement approach
• Maintain CMM equipment including calibration coordination and routine maintenance
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve dimensional non-conformances

Preferred Qualifications

• Zeiss Calypso CMM programming software experience strongly preferred — familiarity with Zeiss CMM equipment and Calypso inspection routines is a significant plus
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with AS9100D quality management requirements
• Experience supporting First Article Inspection per AS9102
• Familiarity with structured light scanning or other metrology equipment
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in quality, engineering technology, or related field
