Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to join the Prototype Fabrication Applied Metrology Group's Dimensional Inspection Team in Los Alamos, NM. The role will begin at QA/QC 1 or 2, with responsibilities expanding to high-precision inspections and reporting as the candidate gains experience.

QA/QC 2 level adds independent work, GD&T application, and CMM-based inspections. This position requires strong math, reading drawings, and teamwork in a laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• Position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience directly related to the occupation.
• Demonstrated experience with quality assurance activities in a manufacturing environment.
• ASQ Certifications (CQE, CQI, CQT) are desirable.
• Experience with materials having RAD, toxic, pyrophoric, explosive, and/or other hazardous characteristics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn job skills and become familiar with Laboratory policies to complete assignments.
• Perform in-process and final inspection of machined components.
• Prepare inspection reports and inform others of inspection results.
• Work within a team environment with strong communication.
• Inspect using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges and a CMM as needed.
