Job summary

Valar Atomics is hiring a CMM Programmer to develop and run MCOSMOS programs using Renishaw Revo 5-axis heads. You will translate engineering drawings and CAD models into efficient, repeatable inspection routines for precision nuclear reactor components.

The role offers ownership over inspection processes, data quality, and collaboration with machinists, engineering, and quality. Relevant experience and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CMM programming in manufacturing/aerospace/precision machining.
• Proficiency with Mitutoyo MCOSMOS for CMM programming.
• Hands-on experience with Renishaw Revo 5-axis heads or similar 5-axis systems.
• Strong ability to read GD&T, drawings and CAD models.
• Solid understanding of CMM fundamentals: alignment, datums, calibration.
• Able to work in a fast-paced startup manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication to collaborate with machinists and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop CMM inspection programs in MCOSMOS with Revo 5-axis heads.
• Translate CAD models and GD&T into repeatable CMM programs.
• Choose alignment strategies, probe configs and styli for parts.
• Optimize scan paths for speed and accuracy.
• Review data, flag deviations, and help root-cause investigations.
• Maintain and calibrate CMMs, probes, and libraries.
• Support first-article inspections and process validation.
• Document programs, revisions, and calibration records.
