Job summary

Orion Casting in Grafton, Wisconsin, is seeking a CMM Programmer to develop production programs for CMM machines using PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or similar software. You will perform first article inspections and capability analyses to support PPAP programs.

You’ll design fixtures, troubleshoot programs, conduct capability studies, and participate in quality initiatives, audits, and CI projects. Strong reading of engineering drawings and GD&T knowledge required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings for inspection planning.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) essential for analysis.
• Proficiency with PC-DMIS and Zeiss Calypso software.
• Experience with ballooning and data page methods a plus.
• Basic MS Office and Minitab skills for data reporting.

Will conduct and document first article inspections and capability analysis to support our PPAP programs. Support quality improvement efforts, Internal Auditing and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Participate in project kick-off teams improving quality aspects of product introduction, and have a fundamental understanding of quality systems, SPC, and control plans.***Principal Duties and Responsibilities******(but not limited to...)**** Laboratory Management: Maintain calibrated equipment in accordance with acceptable industry standards (ANSI/ASME).* Perform calibration process.* Keep accurate, clear, and concise records and reports.* Write programs from Customer Prints and Models that allow for completing quality checks on CMM equipment for given part numbers.* Demonstrate proficiency in programming all software. (PC-DMIS, Zeiss, Renishaw)* Design and procures fixtures needed to hold products for inspection during product development; sets criteria for instruments and specifications.* Trouble-shoot programs as necessary to ensure accuracy of part testing.* Conduct Capability Studies on new products as part of the PPAP process. This duty is performed as needed.* Take critical measurements using gauges, fixtures and other measurement tools.* Be able to analyze problems, make decisions, and take necessary actions to get the job done.* Interpret inspection results.* Maintain a clean work area ensuring strict adherence to the 5S Standards.* Maintain safe and accurate equipment operations.
