Job summary

Orion Castings in Grafton, WI is seeking a Quality Auditor to conduct process, product, and quality system audits in the die-casting operation. You will verify processes against work instructions, control plans, procedures, and customer requirements on a daily basis.

You will inspect die-cast components for dimensional, visual, and functional compliance, review records and SPC data, and support containment and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in quality, manufacturing, inspection, or auditing required.
• Die-casting or metal manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality inspection methods, and quality documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Ability to use basic inspection and measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Knowledge of SPC, control plans, PFMEA, corrective action, and root-cause analysis preferred.
• Experience with ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 quality systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify process and documentation issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other departments.

• Perform layered process audits and verify compliance with standards.

• Verify that inspections and testing are completed and documented properly.
• Identify nonconforming material, process deviations, and potential quality concerns.
• Document audit findings and communicate issues to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with containment activities and follow up on corrective actions.
• Verify corrective actions are implemented and effective.
• Monitor recurring quality issues and identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Support customer-specific quality requirements and ensure applicable requirements are followed on the floor.
• Verify proper identification, segregation, and disposition of nonconforming material.
• Review and maintain quality documentation and audit records.
• Support internal, customer, and third-party audits as needed.
