Job summary

Toledo Tool & Die is seeking a CMM Programmer to operate CMM equipment and verify automotive parts and fixtures. The role involves reading blueprints, applying GD&T, and ensuring dimensional accuracy through precise measurement tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred.
• Minimum of two years progressive experience or training or equivalent combination of education & experience.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings / GD&T, follow routers, use basic math and measuring tools.
• Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operates Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to measure dimensions of automotive parts, inspection fixtures and machine jigs.
• Reads blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications per GD&T.
• Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and other tools.
• Develops and implements CMM programs with Polyworks and PC-DMIS.
• Performs test runs with tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications and makes adjustments as needed.
• Stops production if unsafe parts or poor-quality conditions exist.

Job Summary

Operates Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to measure dimensions of automotive parts, inspection fixtures and machine jigs by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Functions

• Reads blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications per GD & T.
• Understands and uses measurement tools and equipment.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance of specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies, based on specifications.
• Compares recorded measurements to blueprint dimensions and tolerances and notifies specified persons of discrepancies.
• Perform in-depth part layout using CMM/ Laser Scanner and bench layout.
• Develop and implement computer programs using Polyworks, and or PC DMIS software.
• Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or TTD Leadership to meet business objectives.
• Stop production if unsafe parts, actions or poor-quality conditions exist.Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent though graduation from a technical school is preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years progressive experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings / GD&T, follow routers, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use basic hand-held measuring tools
• Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull objects that are up to 50 pounds.
