Job summary

Sonaca North America is seeking a CMM Operator at the St. Charles, MO location. You will operate the CMM, read blueprints, adjust programs, and collaborate with CAD/CAM, quality and production teams to ensure precise measurements and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, experience with Polyworks/Verisurf/PC-DMIS, and GD&T knowledge. Willingness to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Ability to read blueprints and customer specifications.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Responsibilities

• Start up and operate the CMM following safety procedures.
• Read setup sheets and run setup jobs per plan requirements.
• Read CMM programs and adjust as needed on a PC.
• Maintain data in CAD/CAM and work-tracking systems.
• Coordinate with CAD/CAM, quality and production personnel.
• Perform routine CMM maintenance and setup fixtures with forklift.

Our team of experts is dedicated to staying ahead of the curve in the aerospace and defense industry, utilizing the latest technologies and processes to ensure that we deliver the best possible solutions to our customers.**POSITION SUMMARY**We are currently seeking a **CMM Operator** under the direction of the Quality Supervisor, in all actions, will demonstrate a high level of confidentiality; supports Sonaca North America’s Quality Policy, Mission Statement and other Company policies and procedures by supporting our commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability and respect for people.**ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*** Start up and operate the CMM following the proper operating and safety procedures.* Read and understand setup sheets and set up jobs per instructions* Read and understand Sonaca North America sampling plan and run setup jobs per plan requirements.* Read and understand CMM part programs, make minor setup and program adjustments as necessary on a personal computer (PC) system.* Complete data entry and exchange through the CAD/CAM and work tracking systems.* Follow parts schedule prepared by the supervisor. Modify the schedule as required to accommodate “hot jobs” or emergency requirements.* Work with CAD/CAM programmers, quality, and production personnel to identify and resolve problems.* Perform daily routine maintenance on the CMM to ensure the safe and efficient operation.* Participate in work center team and/or other project teams.* Utilize forklift to setup fixtures used for CMM**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES*** High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role.* Familiar with Polyworks, Verisurf or PC-DMIS Software* The ability to read blueprints, mylars and customer specifications.* Familiarity with CATIA/SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD Software.* Preferably prior CMM experience or CNC mill operation experience with posting and running jobs* Solid experience with various measurement tools and methods.* Manufacturing experience particularly with computer assisted production.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)* Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.* The ability to work with all Company personnel in a cooperative and pleasant manner.* Work record, which demonstrates a commitment to quality and efficiency.
