Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled CMM Operator in Mountain Home, PA 18326. This full-time (9-month contract) role covers setup, programming, and operation of CMMs for first-article, in-process, and final inspections.

You’ll interpret GD&T drawings and CAD models, generate QA documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 1 year of CMM programming experience, reads engineering drawings, and can operate precision inspection tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on CMM programming experience.
• Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CMM for first-article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Interpret drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
• Create and troubleshoot CMM programs (Calypso or similar).
• Document results, generate reports and FAIRs, and support CAPA actions.

Your expertise in coordinate measuring machine programming, dimensional inspection, and quality documentation will help maintain the exceptional standards required within the aviation industry.What You'll DoSet up, program, and operate CMM equipment to perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections.Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) requirements.Create, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot CMM programs, including Calypso and similar software platforms.Perform dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gages, optical comparators, and other precision measuring instruments.Document inspection results and generate quality reports, FAIRs, and customer-required documentation.Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances to quality, engineering, and production teams.Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.Maintain calibration records and ensure compliance with established quality systems and safety procedures.Assist in training operators and inspectors on measurement techniques, print reading, and inspection best practices.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.Minimum of 1 year of hands-on CMM programming experience.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.Experience using precision measurement and inspection equipment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Preferred QualificationsExperience in aerospace, aviation, defense, automotive, or precision machining environments.Knowledge of FAIRs, PPAPs, and AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards.Experience working with Calypso or similar CMM programming software.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Why Join Us?At PDS Tech Commercial, we're committed to connecting talented professionals with industry-leading organizations where their skills make a real difference.
