Job description

TRIGO is looking for a CMM Operator in Decatur, IL. Pay is $35/hr (1st shift full-time)


Overall Purpose

Our CMM ROMER Operator will participate in the site inspection function by developing inspection paths for a computerized portable arm coordinate measuring machine (CMM). Also, will develop programs using customer part specifications in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.

Site Supervisor/Site Leaders

Responsibilities

(To include but not limited to the following)

Client Relationship & Business Development

· Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure the product meets set criteria

Operations

  1. Determine part inspection requirements from customer's geometric blueprint features
  2. Romer Arm Operation required
  3. Create programs for portable arm coordinate measuring machines
  4. Administer and/or edit previously created programs
  5. Ensure the part inspection programs are consistent with part number and revision level
  6. Qualify and operate portable arm CMM equipment as required
  7. Verify the operator's setup is suitable, the machine is calibrated and is operational
  8. Operate computer programming hardware and software systems
  9. Analyze and troubleshoot portable arm setups and inspections paths
  10. Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned

Technical

  1. Expert level proficiency developing inspection programs, using PC-DMIS and/or DOCS operating systems or equivalent
  2. Expert level proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings (blueprints)
  3. Expert level proficiency interpreting Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing standards (GD&T)
  4. Expert level proficiency navigating MS Windows and computer networks
  5. Expert level proficiency in applied mathematics (algebra, geometry, and trig)
  6. Intermediate level knowledge of surface-plate inspection techniques, measuring tools, and gauges
  7. Demonstrated comfort level interfacing with staff and management while working in a fast-paced environment
  8. Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills
  9. Demonstrated job diligence, attention to details, and solid problem-solving skills

  3. Expert level proficiency in machine operation/programming i.e. CNC or other multi-axis machines
  4. Advanced knowledge of gauging and/or manufacturing quality
Education background
  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Associate or Bachelor degree in a related technical field preferred
  3. Previous quality inspection experience preferred
  4. Previous portable arm coordinate measuring machine experience preferred
