Job summary

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is seeking a Director of Continuing Medical Education (CME) to oversee ACCME accreditation, joint provider programs, and Cognate initiatives across the national office and districts. The role leads the education programming for ACSM and collaborates with multiple divisions to deliver compliant, high-quality CME.

This hybrid position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and budget management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field; Master's preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in education, healthcare, and/or regulatory fields.
  • 5 years managing ACCME accredited programming, including reaccreditation processes.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Experience with accreditation or credentialing organizations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee ACCME accredited provider programs and joint providerships across divisions and external organizations.
  • Coordinate CME programming from ACOG National office, Districts, and Sections.
  • Stay current on ACCME requirements; structure Cognate Program to meet CME needs.
  • Manage external stakeholder relationships related to CME matters.
  • Prepare materials for ACCME reaccreditation and manage CME for ACSM and District Meetings.
  • Review and approve CME applications for meetings.
  • Oversee CME portfolio with data analytics and reporting.
  • Update programs with ACCME updates throughout the year.
  • Lead Cognate Program and transcript maintenance for members.
  • Ensure compliance of meetings, ads, and CME course placements.
  • Collaborate with Development Team on CME grants.
  • Provide leadership and staff development; create timelines and document activity status.
  • Travel to onsite educational activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
