Your initial focus will be on overseeing a critical asset in clinical development for multiple indications, including three Phase 3 studies. The successful commercialization of this asset between 2028-2030 is pivotal to Biogen’s growth. In this role, you'll manage various aspects of asset strategy, launch planning, life cycle management, and project financials. Your efforts will directly contribute to the advancement of Biogen's portfolio in nephrology, ensuring alignment with business objectives and collaboration across various stakeholders. Your position within the organization allows you to steer complex, dynamic projects that are essential for the company's strategic goals.

This is a hybrid role that can be based in any of our US offices (RTP, NC or Cambridge, MA or San Francisco, CA).

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and maintain a 5-year PO&T Asset Strategy and an 18-month rolling Tactical Plan.
  • Lead the cross-functional Asset Team to deliver on strategic objectives.
  • Manage financial accountability, including AOP and FTE allocations, and monitor impacts on the P&L.
  • Develop business cases for key initiatives and secure management endorsement.
  • Proactively resolve conflicts related to Asset Strategy in consultation with governance boards.
  • Serve as the PO&T representative on commercial or development teams, influencing strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with PO&T and other stakeholders to align asset development with business objectives.
  • Oversee asset planning and execution for late-stage activities and launch.
  • Conduct asset scenario planning and evaluation for development, launch, and life cycle management.

You are committed to identifying risks and developing effective mitigation plans to protect and advance Biogen’s interests.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience with a focus on matrix management.
  • Proven track record in matrix leadership across program teams and the full product life cycle, including experience in commercial launch.

  • Expertise in CMC, supply chain, or life cycle management development, from IND to NDA/BLA.
  • Strong strategic, organizational, and relationship development skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence strategic direction, leveraging diverse team perspectives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify critical program risks and develop mitigation strategies.
