Job summary

JMA Pediatrics is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant CMA or Registered Medical Assistant RMA to join our team in Cary, North Carolina. The successful candidate will manage patient intake, vital signs, and documentation, support the provider during procedures, and administer vaccinations under supervision.

The role requires CMA/RMA certification, proficiency in medical terminology and team-based patient care, plus experience with EHR systems and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• CMA or RMA certification is required.
• Proficient in medical administrative support and patient care.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with EHR systems and vital sign monitoring.
• Basic life support certification.
• Experience in outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs (height, weight, vision, hearing).
• Gather patient and family medical and social history.
• Review medication lists, allergies, and preferred pharmacy.
• Assist provider during treatments, exams, and procedures.
• Administer vaccinations under provider direction.
• Collect specimens, perform phlebotomy and basic lab testing.
• Review records to identify care needs and provide aftercare instructions.
• Provide educational materials and follow-up instructions after visits.

Job description

JMA is currently hiring for a full-time Medical Assistant CMA or Registered Medical Assistant RMA to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Manage the intake process; consisting of taking and recording of vital signs, height, weight, vision, hearing, and data related to the patient's visit.
• Gather patient and family data, including medical and social history.
• Review patient's current medication list, allergies and preferred pharmacy.
• Assist the provider as directed, during treatments, examinations and procedures.
• Administer vaccinations under the direction of a provider.
• Collect specimens, performs phlebotomy, and perform basic lab testing.
• Review the patient record to determine current and potential care needs.
• Provide patient with aftervisit summary, followup care or procedural instructions and/or educational materials as directed by provider.

Opportunities to expand Medical Assistant CMA - RMA skills:

• Coordination of specialty programs Vaccine Inventory Coordinator, Population Health Specialist, and other opportunities for continued growth.

Qualifications:
