Job summary

Cameron Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, or Registered Medical Assistant to join our Cameron OB/GYN team in Angola, IN. The role is a 0.9 FTE with day shifts and a 72-hour bi-weekly schedule.

As part of the OB/GYN department, you will provide nursing care under the provider, manage patient access, and help with charting, admissions, and consented procedures, while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records in EPIC.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or medical assistant program.
• Current RN/LPN license in Indiana.
• CMA/RN/RMA certification.
• Has general knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Educated in basic pharmacology and administration of medications.
• CPR provider certification within 6 months.
• CMA/RN/LPN, Current BLS within 3 months of hire.
• OB/GYN experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to patients as directed by the provider utilizing the nursing process.
• Performs patient access functions.
• Completes patient care assignments as directed by provider and clinical protocol; reports significant findings to the provider.
• Prepares clinic areas for patient care at the beginning of the shift.
• Greets patients on arrival; registers and enters patient data.
• Admits patients, taking brief history and vitals.
• Performs procedure set-up and assists provider as indicated.
• Discharges patient with prescriptions/instructions and documents in patient’s chart.
• Maintains adequate medical supply and medication inventory.
• Schedules surgeries or referrals, attains prior authorizations when needed, provides patient education.
• Familiar with policies in Policystat, including nursing, registration and disaster policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Office Manager.

JOB SUMMARY

Provides nursing care to patients as directed by the provider utilizing the nursing process. Performs patient access functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

• Secures clinic areas nightly.
• Proficient in EPIC including retrieving patient records, entering patient data (e-form) and locking record.
• Greets patients on arrival.
• Registers and enters patient data into the Health Information system. Scans insurance card information.
• Admits patients, taking brief history and vitals.
• Performs procedure set-up and assists provider as indicated.
• Discharges patient with prescriptions/instructions and documents in patient’s chart.
• Maintains adequate medical supply and medication inventory.
• Schedules surgeries or referrals as ordered, attain prior authorizations for surgeries when needed, provides patient education and instruction information.
• Familiar with policies in Policystat, including nursing, registration and disaster policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Office Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or medical assistant program.
• Current RN/LPN license in the State of Indiana. Certified medical assistant or registered medical assistant.
• Has general knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Has been educated in basic pharmacology and the administration of medications.
• CPR provider certification within 6 months.
• CMA/RN/LPN, Current BLS or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire. OB/GYN experience is a plus but not required. Position consists of both clerical and clinical duties.
