Job summary

Dayton Physicians Network is seeking a CMA or LPN to join our oncology clinic in Kettering, OH. The position handles patient care, administrative duties and clinical support under physician guidance.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented, compassionate, and committed to providing top-notch patient care. Schedule is Monday to Friday 8:00am–4:30pm, PRN as needed, with a focus on work/life balance in a clinic environment.

Qualifications

  • Current CMA certification from an accredited program or active LPN license in the state of Ohio.
  • Current CPR certification, if not it must be obtained within 60 days of employment and kept current thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and assists with patient flow.
  • Administers medications and performs procedures directed by physician/practitioners.
  • Assists with vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, height, weight) and communicates abnormalities.
  • Reviews and documents medical history and medications in the EMR.
  • Contacts patients with lab/test results and coordinates required follow-up.
  • Relays instructions to patients and families and documents all medical contacts.
  • Replenishes supplies and maintains logs; removes biohazard waste as directed.
  • Participates in professional development and adheres to privacy and safety rules.

The Certified Medical Assistant or LPN provides assistance to the physicians and practitioners with patient care, administrative, environmental and organizational tasks.Our ideal candidate will be detail oriented, compassionate, and enthusiastic about providing top notch care to our patients.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, PRN as needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Greets patients and assists with patient flow;
  • Administers medications, performs procedures directed by physician and practitioners
  • Assists with preparatory activities such as taking and documenting vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height and weight, and communicates abnormalities to physician or practitioner;
  • Reviews and documents patient medical history including medications, allergies, and medical alerts, documents in the electronic medical record;
  • Contact patients with lab and test results and indicates required follow-up, as directed;
  • Documents all medical contacts;
  • Assists physician and practitioners with relaying instructions to patients and families;
  • Replenishes supplies and removes biohazard waste from patient rooms as directed;
  • Maintains any necessary logs;
  • Participates in professional development activities to keep current with job responsibilities;
  • Follow all health care privacy and safety rules and adheres to Dayton Physicians Core Values;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Current CMA certification from an accredited program or active LPN license in the state of Ohio
  • 2-4 years’ experience is preferred.
  • Current CPR certification, if not it must be obtained within 60 days of employment and kept current thereafter.
