Job summary

Northern Cochise Community Hospital in Willcox, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA or CMA) to join a team-driven clinic in a mission-based setting. You will assist physicians with examinations, patient prep, chart management, and scheduling, ensuring quality care and smooth patient flow across SunSites Willcox or other sites as needed.

Ideal candidates have completed an approved Medical Assistant Training Program and hold BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training Program, Required.
• Approved program definitions per accrediting bodies.
• Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• CCMA Preferred; BLS/CPR through AHA required and current.
• Proof of MA program completion required.
• Urine specimen collection training preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge and medical terminology expected.
• Basic knowledge of ICD-9/CPT coding; phlebotomy and injections.

Responsibilities

• Assist in examination and treatment under physician/provider direction.
• Support patient scheduling and chart management.
• Provide patient information to help utilize clinic services.
• Attend performance quality improvement activities.
• Work at multiple clinic locations as needed.
• Maintain accuracy and timeliness in records and workflows.
• Follow safety, privacy, and infection control requirements.
