Job summary

Fletcher Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Fletcher, NC seeks a Certified Medication Aide for a PRN four-hour night shift (7pm-11pm). The CMA will administer oral and topical medications under licensed nurse supervision, ensuring resident safety and adherence to regulations.

Responsibilities include medication administration, recording, vital signs where needed, responding to resident needs, and reporting any changes or adverse effects to nursing staff.

Qualifications

• CMA Certification required.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of medication administration rights.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Maintains accurate medication records and documents administration in the chart/computer system.
• Notifies licensed staff when residents report pain or unclear medication effects.
• Takes and records vital signs as needed for certain medications.
• Responds to resident call lights and checks on residents on own rounds with supervision.
• Observes and reports adverse reactions or side effects to a licensed nurse.
• Performs resident care tasks to support safety and quality of care.
• Maintains a culture of safety and quality in daily practice.
• Administers PRN medications in accordance with state/federal regulations and policies.
• Reports changes in resident condition or behavior as appropriate.
