Job summary

Aspirus Ironwood Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the department, provide patient care, assist with procedures, and help keep the physician's schedule running smoothly in Ironwood, Michigan.

Candidates should have CMA or RMA certification or be prepared to obtain within six months, plus BLS and current licensure as EMT/Paramedic/LPN if applicable; 1–2 years healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have CMA or RMA certification or obtain within six months of hire.
• Current BLS certification or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• 1–2 years of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the department and provide health care services to patients.
• Assist with procedures and ensure physician's schedule flows smoothly.
• Maintain accurate patient flow and documentation as required.

The Process

As a MEDICAL ASSISTANT with Aspirus Ironwood Hospital & Clinics you support the department and provide health care services to patients, assist with various procedures, and assure that the physician's patient schedule flows smoothly and efficiently.

Experience/Qualifications/Licensure

• Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from an accredited MA program
• Current CMA or RMA certification or obtained within six months of hire.

• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• 1-2 years of previous work experience in healthcare preferred.

Aspirus Ironwood Hospital includes a 25-bed critical access hospital, multi-specialty clinic, satellite clinic in Wisconsin, surgical clinic, walk-in clinic and a home health agency. Ironwood's service area covers approximately 30,000 people. The hospital has a 4 bed ICU, 3 bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually. The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day. The outpatient clinic has over 50,000 visits annually.
