Job summary

Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to provide safe, accurate medication administration and compassionate resident care within our skilled nursing community in Paola, KS.

In this role, you’ll administer medications, assist with daily living activities, and collaborate closely with licensed nursing staff in a fast-paced clinical environment to support residents’ health, safety, and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) course approved by the State of Kansas.
• Active CMA certification in good standing, with annual updates as required.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
• Verify resident identity prior to medication administration and document dosage, time, and observations.
• Monitor residents for medication responses and promptly report adverse reactions or concerns.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility.
• Recognize and report changes in resident condition to charge staff.
• Take and record vital signs, reporting abnormalities per facility policy.
• Identify medication shortages and immediately report concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to resident care, intake, and output as ordered.
• Support coworkers by providing assistance as needed.
• Complete admission, discharge, and transfer documentation as required.
