Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Heart & Vascular Specialist Clinic in Rockwall, TX. This full-time role requires on-site duties including administering injections, drawing blood and performing EKGs, with clinic-based patient care Monday through Friday.

We value teamwork, compassionate patient service, and thorough documentation. New grads are welcome with onsite externship; ACLS/BCLS certifications may be required as noted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CMA - Current Medical Assistant Certification required.
• New grads welcome with onsite externship.
• 1 year Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• ACLS required upon hire or BCLS quarterly within 90 days upon hire.
• Demonstrated competency in required skills within 90 days of entry.
• Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood, and administer injections as needed.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using the CMA process.
• Performs general patient care following established standards.
• Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider.
• Obtains and records vital signs (BP, temp, pulse, respiration, height, weight, allergies, meds).
• Administers medications and/or vaccines as ordered.
• May draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis; perform routine EKGs.
• Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion.
• Documents care plans and test results in the medical record.
• Communicates test results and care plans to patients by phone or mail.
• Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments and maintains exam rooms.
