Job summary

Texas Health Resources’ Heart & Vascular Specialists Clinic in Dallas is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a full-time day shift. You will support providers in a fast-paced, multi-provider clinic and travel to Rockwall up to 25% weekly as needed.

Requirements include CMA certification, High School Diploma, bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, and ability to perform EKGs. ACLS preferred; BCLS required. Join us and contribute to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CMA certification required.
  • Prior CMA experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Able to perform EKGs and use medical software.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients using the CMA process.
  • Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Obtains and records vital signs (BP, temperature, pulse, respirations, height, weight, allergies, medications).
  • Documents patient care plans, tests and exam results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
  • Communicates test results and care plans to patients by phone or mail as directed by physician.
  • Escalates non-routine issues to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s).
  • Ensures safety checks and quality controls are completed.
  • Protects patient privacy and safety.

  • Work location: 8440 Walnut Hill Lane, Suite 400, Dallas, TX 75231
  • Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Thursday, 8:00am – 5:00pm & Friday, Friday, 8:00am – 3:00pm
  • Travel: 25% to travel to Rockwall location 1-2 times/week as needed. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Here’s What You Need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • CMA - Current Medical Assistant Certification (required)
  • Medical Assistant experience (strongly preferred)
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish (preferred)
  • Successful completion of THPG Clinical Training (CT) educational program with demonstrated competency in required skills-within 90 days of job entry (required)
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (preferred) or
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support Exception Quarterly 90 Days Upon Hire (required)
  • Ability to perform EKGs
  • Basic computer skills using medical management application systems
  • Effectively communicate with staff and patients
  • Thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations
  • Demonstrates sound judgement in emergency situations
  • Takes appropriate action in urgent circumstances
  • Maintains a positive, customer-focused attitude toward staff and patients
  • Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
What You Will Do
  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant Process
  • Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Obtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
  • Documents patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
  • Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician.
  • Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s).
  • Ensures safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.
  • Provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
