Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Shawnee, KS is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support a GI clinic. This full-time role includes clinical and administrative duties such as taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, updating patient records in the EHR, and coordinating appointments in our GI practice.

Shift is Days, 8:00am–4:30pm, with no weekends, under supervision of physicians and nurses. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, current BLS, and CMA

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistants program or equivalent
• Current BLS certification on hire and maintained
• CMA credential from a nationally recognized organization required
• 1 year of clinic experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and assist with exams/procedures
• Update patient records in EHR
• Coordinate appointments and communications
• Assist with specimen collection and processing as needed
• Handle patient education about procedures and care
• Manage prior authorizations and verify benefits prior to procedures
