Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our Float Pool team. The role partners with primary care physicians to deliver patient care within the Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines, reviewing health records, measuring vital signs and preparing rooms for examinations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active MA certification within 12 months of start date (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NHA, NCMA, NCCT, etc.).
• BLS/CPR certification required by location; or available at hire.
• One year MA experience preferred; two years clerical in a physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community.
• Reviews and updates patient charts, verifies diagnostic test results and hospital reports.
• Measures vital signs: pulse rate, respiration, blood pressure, weight and height.
• Performs clerical duties: inventory, stock supplies, track referrals, answer phones.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems promptly.
