Job summary

Harborview Health Systems in Lumberton, NC is seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our compassionate care team. You will provide direct patient care under RN/LPN supervision and assist with medications while supporting daily living activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
  • Active CNA certification in good standing.
  • Active Medication Aide certification in good standing.
  • Minimum of 1 year health care industry experience or 2 years' experience as a medication aide.
  • Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and support residents safely.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Assist in the administering of medication to residents.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Assist with resident mobility, turning, transfers, and ambulation using proper techniques.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment.
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to residents and their families.
  • Assist in the documentation of care and report changes in condition to nursing staff.
  • Support the care team in developing and implementing individualized care plans.
  • Take on call one weekend a month.
