Job summary

Spectrum Retirement Communities in Overland Park, KS seeks a Part-Time Certified Medication Aide to support residents with medication needs, transcribe in the Medication Assistance Record, and assist with activities of daily living in Assisted Living and Memory Care as needed. You will transport residents and respond to emergencies with a calm, respectful approach, in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be an active Certified Medication Aide in Kansas.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• All state educational requirements for the position must be met.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Experience working with an elderly population is preferred.
• A calm, helpful, and respectful demeanor is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining, ordering, and assisting residents with medication needs.
• Transcribing and documenting in the Medication Assistance Record.
• Assisting residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care with ADLs and health tasks.
• Transporting residents within the community to activities and dining.
• Responding to emergency calls, resident and/or visitor requests, and hazards promptly.

Schedule: Part-Time. Days and Hours Vary. Weekends and Holidays availability may be required.

In this position, your main responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining, ordering, and assisting residents with medication needs.
• Transcribing and documenting in the Medication Assistance Record.
• Assisting residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care, with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, first aid, wound care, and communication with outside health care professionals as necessary.
• Transporting residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
• Responding to emergency calls, resident and/or visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.

Qualifications

To be successful in this position, we believe that you need the following experiences and skills.

• Must be an active Certified Medication Aide in the State of Kansas.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• All state educational requirements for the position must be met.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Experience working with an elderly population is preferred.
• A calm, helpful, and respectful demeanor is appreciated.
