Job summary

CCMC Camden Clark Medical Center is seeking a focused Medical Assistant to support providers by preparing patients, collecting vital signs, and assisting with examinations. The role requires strong communication and the ability to work in a team-focused environment.

Responsibilities include room preparation, aiding in procedures, scheduling, patient education, and maintaining documentation and equipment. The position is full-time, day shift, NON-EXEMPT, with travel between facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Current National Certification as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
• Preferred: graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms and gathers initial information and vital signs.
• Prepares exam rooms and ensures supplies and cleanliness.
• Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedules appointments and coordinates referrals as needed.
• Assists providers during examinations and procedures.
• Educates patients on follow-up expectations.
• Maintains quality control testing logs and equipment checks.
• Assists patients with medical documentation completion.

Job description

Performs basic nursing skills, and/or serves under the direction and supervision of the practice physician, advanced practice professional and/or registered nursing staff.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Current National Certification as Certified Medial Assistant.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.

Experience

• One (1) year of healthcare experience.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms; prepares for provider visit by obtaining initial information and vital signs.
• Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and availability of supplies.
• Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
• Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
• Educates patients on follow up expectations.
• Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
• Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• MEDIUM WORK - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly)).
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach and be capable of normal rotation, standing and walking for an 8-12 hour shift.
