Job summary

Arcis Golf is seeking a facilities and engineering supervisor for the River Place Club location in Austin, TX. The role oversees staff and maintains the building, HVAC, electrical, and related systems, aligned with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs.

Responsibilities include hiring and training staff, managing budgets and contractor bids, implementing safety procedures, and keeping leadership informed about facility conditions with cost-effective proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or preferred with 1–2 years in engineering/maintenance management.
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance and supervising staff.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Oversee energy management, preventive maintenance, and safety programs.
  • Coordinate with General Manager and department heads on facility condition and cost-effective upgrades.
  • Input data, generate reports, and monitor building systems across HVAC, electrical, and mechanical.
  • Lead repairs, maintenance projects, and vendor coordination as needed.
  • Attend meetings and ensure clean, safe, and guest-friendly facilities.

SUMMARY

Manages and supervises engineering and housekeeping staff. Maintains entire facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs.



Essential Functions:


  • Hiring, training, supervising, and disciplining department staff.

  • Adheres to all property-required purchasing policies and controls, including, but not limited to, all outside contractor bids, budgets, and schedules.

  • Follow prescribed safety procedures for personnel and equipment by the company and OSHA.

  • Informs the General Manager and department heads on a regular basis regarding the specific and overall condition of the building structure(s), related systems, and equipment offering prudent, cost effective proposals for maintaining these systems.

  • Access and input information into a computer and generate reports.

  • Supervises necessary repairs and maintenance throughout.

  • Prepares technical data, bidding, project work, alterations, and repairs for properties.

  • Conducts walk-throughs and visually assesses the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the location, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.

  • Verifies completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, and grounds.

  • Verifies completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovation projects in all areas.

  • Maintains effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs and conducts special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy.

  • Performs necessary repairs and maintenance.

  • Actively trains in fire prevention, environmental health and safety, and engineering systems.

  • Attends all meetings regarding hotel operations, i.e., department, fire, safety, health and quality improvement.

  • Attend morning walk around as required.

  • Maintains cleanliness and neatness of fitness equipment and facility.

  • Ensures a pleasant visit for each guest; maintains effective guest relations.

  • Performs special projects delegated by management.

  • Stays updated on latest developments pertinent to the department as well as the location.



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree preferred; 1 to 2 years engineering management/supervisor experience; excellent people and communication skills. Proven experience managing facilities maintenance; dealing with stressful situations; and demonstrated outstanding customer service. Proven experience managing engineering operations. Must possess willingness to learn and perform new engineering programs and services. Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, drive and motivation. Flexibility with schedule with evenings and weekend work required.



LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.



REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
