InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is located in the Wilshire Grand building, standing 73 stories tall in the core of Downtown’s historic, entertainment, financial, arts, and sports districts. Ideally placed at the heart of the revitalized, energy-charged urban center of the United States’ second-largest city, the hotel provides first-class hospitality that seamlessly intertwines with the fabric of the burgeoning Downtown area.

Your day to day

Responsibilities include:

  • Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt and professional manner and be knowledgeable of services in the local areas.
  • Ability to make suggestions to Club Lounge guest of specific hotel offerings, as well as nearby highlights, points of interest and destinations
  • Making sure place settings are cleared and ready for next guest
  • Assist in creative display of food and beverage offerings, communicating with leadership on items to be served
  • Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up
  • Respond appropriately to guest complaints
  • Make appropriate service recovery gestures in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.
  • Conversational confidence with VIP Guests – checking on each guest in Lounge area regularly

GUEST EXPERIENCE:

  • Complete all Club Attendant duties and maintain the cleanliness of equipment used and all areas related to the Club Lounge throughout shift
  • Takes personal interest and pride to ensure that the work area is kept clean and in an orderly state at all times
  • Strives to maintain the high standards of the hotel for all guests with special attention to IHG Loyalty Program members and other VIP’s
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What we need from you

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year experience in a hotel, or a similar environment

Knowledge and skills:

  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees.
  • Basic math skills, reading, and writing are used when completing paperwork.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Fluency in English required, other languages preferred
  • Carrying, pushing, or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently walking, standing up throughout the facility.
  • Frequently bending or stooping
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays

What We Offer

The salary range for this role is $21.59-31.67. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown in Los Angeles, California. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
