InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is located in the Wilshire Grand building, standing 73 stories tall in the core of Downtown’s historic, entertainment, financial, arts, and sports districts. Ideally placed at the heart of the revitalized, energy-charged urban center of the United States’ second-largest city, the hotel provides first-class hospitality that seamlessly intertwines with the fabric of the burgeoning Downtown area.

Your Day to Day

This position has overall responsibility for assisting servers in providing fast and courteous service of food and beverage to guests by clearing and setting tables and performing miscellaneous tasks.

• Clear, clean, and set tables according to established service standards.
• Clean and/or wipe down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirror and floors of restaurant.
• Separate dirty china, glassware and silver and deliver to kitchen for cleaning.
• Perform set-up and closing side work assignments such as make coffee, fold napkins, etc.
• Stock service station or pantry with napkins, placemats, condiments, etc.
• May be required to transport linens to and from laundry.
• May routinely fill water glasses, serve non-alcoholic beverages, and assist servers by delivering items to guest tables.
• Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to restaurant duties.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• Be ready to jump into other ad-hoc duties when your colleagues need your help.
• Always follow safety procedures.

• Fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day with lots of bending and kneeling.
• Strength – you’ll need to lift, push and pull big objects like barrels and crates up to 50 pounds
• Literate – you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing and basic math.
• Flexible – night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.
• Experienced – you'll need to set up the memorable experience for every guest and ensure highest quality of service.
• Compliant – as well as meeting local laws on food handling and serving alcohol, you’ll be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language.
• Articulate – a great communicator, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to.

What We Offer

The hourly pay range for this role is $17.00 to $20.75. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Los Angeles, California. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
