Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Fitness Instructor at Claremont Resort & Club in Berkeley, CA. Join a premium resort team to lead dynamic fitness classes, personal and group sessions, and wellness programs for Members and guests.

Position is on-site with hourly pay range of $50.00 to $65.00. Certifications (AEA, ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, YMCA) and CPR certification are required. Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Maintain professional certifications (AEA, ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, YMCA) while continually pursuing knowledge.
• Maintain current CPR certification.
• Capable of bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, sitting; able to demonstrate exercise routines.

Responsibilities

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service and dynamic classes.
• Supervise and ensure fitness center and club services are followed.
• Plan and conduct fitness sessions, personal training, group training and in-service education.
• Ensure cleanliness of Fitness Center and teaching area.
• Provide high guest satisfaction through effective communication.
• Assist in recruitment, development and training of fitness staff.
• Balance staffing and scheduling per productivity guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service and dynamic classes
• Supervise and ensure all fitness and clubservices, protocols and procedures are followed
• Plan and conductfitness exercise sessions, personal training sessions, group training experiences, and in-service education sessions.
• Ensure the cleanliness of theFitness Center and teachingarea includingwhere equipment is housed
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Provide a high level of guest satisfaction through effective communication
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Assist in the recruitment, development and training of all fitness staff

• Follow all safety and sanitation policies

Qualifications

• Maintain professional certifications (AEA, ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, YMCA) while continually pursuing a greater degree of knowledge and expertise
• Maintain current CPR certification
• Applicants should be capable of bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50lbs.
• Possible Jumping; Bending; Running, as necessary to demonstrate exercise routines.
• Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, sitting
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with guests, associates, and the general public.
• Must be able to work independently and in a fast paced environment.
• Must be able to interact with a wide range of people.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
